Cast List for Harry Potter

The cast list for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince was solidified before filming started back in the fall of 2007. Filming continued through the summer of 2008 and the long awaited release of this character driven film met with much anticipation by Harry Potter fans in mid July, 2009.

The cast portraying popular Hogwarts students in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince presents Harry Potter and his friends as they mature into adolescence. This most recent movie takes fans for an action packed ride with the standard dangers and confrontations that have come to be expected, but the new release is also mixed with light-hearted moments showing the Hogwarts teens testing the waters of love.

Daniel Radcliffe, who plays Harry Potter, turned 20 the same month Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince premiered. He has played the role of the Hogwarts wizard since the summer of 2000 when he first signed on to the cast. He signed a $43 million deal for two more "Potter" films

Along with the traditional good versus evil and learning the dark secrets of Voldemort's past, Radcliffe as Harry Potter is faced with a romantic dilemma in the Half Blood Prince when he falls in love with his best friend's sister, Ginny Weasley. It's a complicated situation, which gives the storyline a dose of reality, because Ginny is dating Hogwarts fellow student and friend, Dean Thomas.

Felton has acted professionally since age 8. Born September 22, 1987, Felton is also scheduled to appear in the next two Harry Potter films as the popular Draco Malfoy.

Bonnie Wright, who plays Harry Potter's love interest in Half Blood Prince has said that she didn't really enjoy her romantic scenes with Daniel Radcliffe (Potter).

20-year-old Rupert Grint plays Ron Weasley. The romantic thread woven into the Half Blood Prince has him matched up with co-star Jessie Cave who says he is a good kisser.

At age 19, French born Emma Watson, who plays Hermione Granger, debuted in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.
