Who wants to be stuck with the same old boring windows desktop when you can spice it up with desktop fairy wallpaper?
What is Desktop Wallpaper
When you first boot up your computer you’ll most likely be treated to a plain color on your desktop. Perhaps you will be one of the lucky ones and get a logo background. Whichever you get you will probably dislike it. This is where desktop wallpaper comes in.
Desktop fairy wallpaper, like any other wallpaper, is a graphic image that you download and are fitted for your monitor size. In most cases they are available as 640 x 480 and 1024 x 768. Wallpaper can come in any size and any image can be used as the computer will just make it fit your monitor size. The larger the image the better the definition will be.
How to use Desktop Wallpaper
Desktop wallpaper is easy enough to use.
- Find the wallpaper that you want to use and download it. You will either have to click a download button or right click your mouse over the image and select “save image as” then save it where you know you can find it again.
- Next depends on your system. For most make your desktop active and right click on it. In Vista you can select “personalize” but on other Windows versions you can choose something like video or monitor setup. Older systems will also have a monitor icon in their active programs group on the start bar and that can be double clicked.
- Once you’re able to edit your video settings you can add your wallpaper by simply browsing for the image and selecting it. You can choose to either have the image stretch to fill the screen, stay its native size or make it a mosaic.
- Save your settings and the desktop wallpaper will be changed immediately.

Now that you know what wallpaper is and how to install it’s time to know where you can download all those scrumptious fairies to live on your desktop.
- Flash Screen is dedicated to bringing you some of the very best in fantasy fairy art sized to be used on your desktop. The graphics range from gothic fairy fantasy art to more whimsical fairies. They don’t list size choices and you have to click the image you like a couple times to get to the full size then you have to right click and save it. They have many types of wallpaper available for you from horror and abstract to beautiful landscapes.
- Cool Wallpaper offers up some cutesy, Anime bottle fairy fantasy pictures to use as desktop wallpaper. You have to click through an advertisement to get to the image in order to download it. You get to select the size of the image you want though and currently they are offering four fairy wallpapers.
- Disney Fairies from the I Love Disney website offers up several desktop wallpapers that feature Tinkerbell and her friends. You have to right click and save the file to your computer.
- Howard David Johnson is a fantasy artist on canvas that scanned several of his creations to make into wallpaper for you. He specializes in fairies and dragons creating whimsical scenes. His art is also available for online purchase.
- Best Wallpapers offers many kinds of desktop wallpapers that you can download. The fairy section is full of beautiful fairy art that features fairies in the forest, talking with birds and frolicking with unicorns. There are over two dozen categories to choose from on the Best Wallpapers website.
- Little Fairy is a very darling wallpaper graphic of a baby fairy trying to get herself up on a brand.
- Fairy Tales do come true when looking at this fairy wallpaper from Jurko. The fairy is sitting in the dark woods giving off a blue hue. She looks to be very beautiful and mysterious.
