Star Trek Computer Sound
From LoveToKnow Sci-Fi
For Star Trek fans around the world, the famous Star Trek computer sound effects heard throughout each show quickly became a trademark for the television and movie series.
What are Star Trek Computer Sounds?
In the original series, there were a wide variety of fantastic computer sounds that quickly became the signature sounds for The Original Series. Whenever Captain Kirk or any other member of the crew would interface with the ship, the ship's computer system would respond with various well known beeps, tones and alerts. Throughout the series, these unique computer sounds identified the show for fans. In Star Trek: The Next Generation, the Star Trek computer sounds were even more distinct and present throughout the entire ship as the crew worked and lived aboard the Enterprise.

Throughout this early series, most of the special effects generated by the ship and the computer had a hollow echo that resonated with drama and kept fans enthralled throughout each episode.
Computer Sound Favorites from the Original Series
Once Star Trek: The Next Generation came along, computer technology advanced significantly so that the computer sound effects for this series were much more polished and clean. The beeps and sounds were no longer filled with echo, instead they were very clear and distinct.
