Transformers 2 Character

Each Transformer 2 character in Michael Bay's new Transformers movie, played a bigger role and became involved in major battles that affected other moments in the film. Two races take up the plot of the movie, the Transformers and the humans.

Just as a Transformer 2 character can be good, there are also characters that are evil.

• Optimus Prime is the leader of the Autobots and is voiced by Peter Cullen. Optimus Transformers into a Peterbuilt semi when in vehicle mode.
• Mudflap and Skids are new characters to the Transformers movies. They are twins and transform into two small Chevrolet cars (the Trax and Beat). They like to fight with themselves since one claims to be smarter and one claims to be stronger. Because they are twins, they are able to fight as one and inflict good amounts of damange.
• Ironhide is a GMC Topkick that is a weapons specialist for the Autobots.
• Ratchet transforms into a Hummber and is the medic.
• Jetfire was originally a Deception to has ran his course. He is old and has many wounds, but turns to the Autobot side to help.
• Bumblebee is a Yellow Camaro that is Sam Witwicky’s friend. He is a fighter with powerful weapons, but his voice is gone. Even though it was slightly repaired, he is still working on perfecting it, but continues to use radio clips to speak.

A few Autobots had quick cameos: Sideswipe and Jolt were a Corvette concept car and a Chevrolet Volt respectively.

• Megatron is the leader of the Decepticons and was supposedly dead after the first film. He has the ability in Transformers 2 to change into a tank as well as a jet.
• The Fallen is basically Megatron’s boss. He controlled Megatron into creating the Decepticon group and is the motivation to take over Earth.
• Soundwave is a communications specialist and really doesn’t change into any vehicles.
• Starscream is Megatron’s second in command, but initially leads his own Decepticon army back to Earth.
• Ravage is a jaguar-like Transformer that is under the control of Soundwave.
• Wheelie is a small radio-controlled 4x4 truck.
• The Doctor is a microscope Transformer that contains tools. He tortures Sam in the film.
• The Demolisher is a large Transformer that is the combination of smaller Constructicons.
• Alice is a “Pretender” that tries to seduce Sam to kill him at college.

Most of the human characters were introduced during the first film. The second film reconnects with these characters, particularly Shia LaBeouf's Sam Witwicky who plays a key role in Bay's Transformers mythology.

• Sam Witwicky is the Transformer 2 Character hero. He is trying to move on with life by going to college, but continues to be caught up in the Transformers’ Universe.
• Mikaela Banes is Sam’s girlfriend who must stay behind and work in her dad’s repair shop.
• Major William Lennox is a US Ranger who has joined a secret US government group called NEST that seeks out Decepticons.
• Robert Epps is a Air Force Controller and also a member of NEST.
• Leo Spitz, a new character for Transformers 2, is Sam’s roommate at college who runs a website full of conspiracy theories
• Back in the sequel is Seymour Simmons, who is played by John Turturro. He was once an agent for Sector 7, but has now been relegated to work at his mom’s deli.
• Ron Witwicky is Sam’s dad and Judy is his mom. They both are kidnapped by the Decepticons in order to lure Sam.
• Professor Colan is one of the College lecturer who tries to play it cool with the female students. Michael Bay based the Professor on one of his teachers at Bay’s alma matter, Wesleyan University. This character is played by Rainn Wilson, of The Office.
• Theordore Galloway is a NSA member that is trying to take down the Autobots because he thinks the Autobots’ presence are the real reason that Earth may be destroyed.
• General Morshower is the NEST leader and had a short stint in the first movie and now plays a larger role in the sequel to the first film.
